Haunold Ski Area

The Haunold family ski resort is located directly across from the Glinzhof and promises plenty of skiing fun for the whole family. The four-seater chairlift starts right in the town center of San Candido (Innichen) and takes you up to the Haunold mountain station. Haunold offers 10 slopes across 23 kilometers and is particularly family-friendly with its 5 blue runs, 4 red runs, and one black run. During your ski day, you can recharge at one of the 4 mountain huts, where you’ll be treated to South Tyrolean specialties and international cuisine.

A special highlight at Haunold during the high season is night skiing, which takes place every Tuesday and Friday. Under floodlights, you can enjoy the brightly lit slopes from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Additionally, you can go night tobogganing at the same time on the 2.1-kilometer-long run. It’s fun for the whole family! By the way: With a multi-day pass for the 3 Zinnen Dolomites ski resort, this nightly entertainment is included in the price.

Skitour Fischleintal

Tip: Although Haunold is part of the 3 Zinnen Dolomites ski resort, you can purchase a separate skipass exclusively for this mountain. If you don't plan on exploring a different mountain every day or don't want to spend every single day on downhill skis, buying a day ticket specifically for Haunold is a great option. This way, you can save a few euros.

Helm Ski Area

Several routes lead into the Helm ski area. From Versciaco (Vierschach), the "Helmbahn" cable car carries visitors up to Monte Elmo. From Sesto (Sexten), the new 10-passenger gondola, the "Helmjet Sesto," whisks snow enthusiasts toward the summit. Additionally, you can reach the Stiergarten and Croda Rossa (Rotwand) ski areas using the "Drei Zinnen" gondola, which starts just 50 meters from the "Signaue" gondola. Thanks to the 3 Zinnen Dolomites merger, Helm, Stiergarten, Croda Rossa, Kreuzberg, and the Val Comelico Ski Area form a seamless ski carousel offering unlimited winter fun.

But back to Helm: From the Helm Restaurant, you can enjoy a dreamlike panoramic view of the Sesto Dolomites, including the peaks of the Sesto Sundial (Cima Dieci/Zehner and Cima Undici/Elfer), as well as the Dreischusterspitze and Haunold. Besides the magnificent views, Helm also boasts the longest descent in the Upper Pustertal: the 4.8-kilometer Helm-Versciaco slope.

Skitour Fischleintal

On the Helm, you will find slopes of all difficulty levels, including a 3.8-kilometer-long black run known as the Raut slope. For beginners, Helm also offers many flatter slopes and is highly regarded as family-friendly. But Helm has even more to offer: it’s not called the "Event Mountain" for nothing. Special events take place on the Helm throughout the entire season.

Stiergarten Ski Area

From the Signaue, located behind Moso (Moos) near Sesto (Sexten) in the direction of the Monte Croce Pass (Kreuzbergpass), the "Signaue" gondola of the same name starts and takes you to the Stiergarten ski mountain. The Stiergarten is part of the interconnected ski mountains of Helm, Stiergarten, Croda Rossa (Rotwand), Monte Croce Pass, and the Val Comelico Ski Area, forming the heart of the 3 Zinnen ski resort. Once you reach the top at 2,100 meters, the Stiergarten offers a magnificent view of the Sesto Sundial and the most famous rock formation in the Dolomites, the Three Peaks (Drei Zinnen).

Skitour Fischleintal

Currently under development is a new cable car to the Monte Arnese (Hochgruben), which sits at 2,538 meters. In the future, this will link the Austrian side (East Tyrol) with the South Tyrolean side through the Sillian - Sesto ski connection. Located up here is also the Sillianer Hütte, situated on the Carnic Ridge.

Rotwand Ski Area

Also starting from Signaue, the "Drei Zinnen" gondola takes you up to the Rotwand (Croda Rossa). You can go even higher with the "Rotwandwiesen" gondola, which starts from Sesto (Sexten) towards Val Fiscalina (Fischleintal). Once at the top, you are greeted by a family of giant snowmen. Here, you have a wonderful view of the Sesto Dolomites. Near the Rudi Hut (Rudihütte) at the mountain station lives the only reindeer herd in the Alps, which can be observed in both summer and winter and is an absolute highlight at the Rotwand and beyond.

Skitour Fischleintal

T-bar lifts bring you even closer to the Croda Rossa, which sits at an altitude of 2,000 meters. From there, slopes of various levels lead to Signaue or the Monte Croce Pass (Kreuzbergpass), where you can re-enter the ski carousel. Another highlight at the Rotwand is the 5-kilometer-long Rotwand toboggan run.

Kreuzberg Ski Mountain

The Kreuzberg is a vital link in the 3 Zinnen Dolomites ski area and one of the 5 interconnected mountains—alongside Helm, Stiergarten, Rotwand, and the Val Comelico Ski Area. The Monte Croce Pass (Kreuzbergpass) connects the Sesto Valley with Cadore and serves as the alpine pass between South Tyrol and Veneto. Currently, two T-bar lifts transport skiers above the pass, which serves as the starting point for continuing to Bagni di Val Grande. From there, you can take the shuttle bus to Padola and the Val Comelico Ski Area.

Alternatively, you can take a relaxed ride back to Signaue on the blue slope. In the future, the Monte Croce Pass (Kreuzbergpass) will be perfectly integrated into the 3 Zinnen Dolomites ski carousel through the development of two additional gondolas starting from Bagni di Val Grande.

Val Comelico Ski Area

The Val Comelico Ski Area, with its 3 ski lifts, can be reached via the valley station in Padola. Alternatively, you can take the valley run from Kreuzberg to Valgrande and catch the shuttle bus to Padola from there. Connected to the 3 Zinnen Dolomites in 2010, the Val Comelico Ski Area delights both skiers and snowboarders with varied and challenging slopes ranging from easy to difficult. Beginners and families will feel right at home in the Val Comelico Ski Area, while experienced skiers will truly appreciate the area for its beautiful descents. The family run is considered one of the most beautiful slopes in the majestic Cadore Dolomites, if not the entire Dolomiti Superski network.

You are now no longer in South Tyrol, but in Belluno. Things are also changing in the Val Comelico Ski Area. One of the two gondolas currently under development will transport skiers from Val Grande to the mountain station of the ski area. Have fun on the ski carousel!
