Special features
The panoramic
In winter, when the bottom is hidden in the valley the sun set behind the mountains up here, we are still treated to pleasant sunshine. In summer it is with us a few degrees cooler than down in the valley. The ski circus of the Kronplatz can be reached in about 25 minutes. The well-known ski resort Cortina d’Ampezzo can be reached in about 45 minutes.
The rest
Our most important property is the rest and the peace far away from the usual everyday life. Cozy little places all around our farm offer enough space and time to let the soul dangle.
The hospitality
We have hospitality in our blood! In natural kind and always helpfully we try to give to every guest a home on time. The work with our guests and friends prepares big satisfaction for us. The biggest satisfaction for us is if we may see the change of our guests.
Quite often people come as a physical and mental “wreck” to the Glinzhof. Then in the course of the vacation one sees from day to day like the accumulator is charged again.
The environment
Our environment is our highest property.
The ecologically friendly power production on the Glinzhof was always a quite central subject. On Glinzhof we produce far more energy than we need themselves. The excess electricity is fed into the grid. We contribute to a CO2-neutral future.

Holiday without TV
The Glinzhof offer for many years a special feature: holiday without television! At first a little bit strange, but a guarantee for a different holiday. Adults and children realize very quickly how decelerating for some time is NOT TV. And there is more time for more important things.
A TV waiver is not a must! For a conscious deterrent rental of 10 € per day can be a flat-screen TV be hired. All programs are than available via satellite.
Pets welcome
Pets are allowed and welcome. Please specify when registering. The price is usually around 10 € per animal per day. The whole house is cleaned thoroughly every day. Thus, the other guests will not be adversely affected by domestic animals.
Service
A helpful service is our top priority! Many large and small problems are well known. In the vast majority of “extras” we are prepared. Alexia and Manfred are accessible 24 hours on their cell phone!

Carport
Enough roofed autoparking spaces protect the car and are directly before the farm. Weatherproof get our guests into the house.
Also, motorcycles, bikes or other equipment can be parked.
Heated garage
A special service is our heated garage. If desired, a parking space can be rented here.
Chronicle of the court
The Glinzhof was mentioned in the year 1,500 for the first time in a document
Precipitous meadows and hardly accessible woods made the survival on 1.500 m above sea level on the daily life tasks. In the post-war period a whole generation immigrated up to our father Jakob into a “better” life. Only because of the infinite love to„ Hamatl“ Jakob remained at the court.
In the mineral water factory “Kaiserwasser” he earned some extra money around the small court in the sunny mountain Innichberg. The way to the workplace and to Candidowas laborious also. Step by step about the old Kirchweg the footpath often also had to be mastered several times daily.
1972
Then in 1972 a court entrance was built by Candido up. Only now Father Jacob saw a real future.
1973
A fresh wind is moving into the old and quite poor farm. Mother Maria was a cook in a prestigious 4-star hotel in Val Badia. The learned has become a passion, she also wanted to continue to live high up in San Candido. As a driving force in the court she animated father Jacob to install a sink for fluent water in the “Gitschenkammer” and the “middle room”. Today Room N. 1 + 2. With a lot of idealism she started to rent room to vacationer. At that time (1974) Glinzhof was the only mountain farm in South Tyrol that rented out their rooms.
1975 & 1976
the children Manfred and Angelika are born. From year to year the Glinzhof is redeveloped and adapted over and over again to the modern claims of the guests. The max. number of 6 guest-rooms was soon reached. Father Jakob falls ill and must die in 2000. Manfred takes over the parental court at the age of 18 years (!). With new swing, a lot of courage and a common sense one awaits on the Glinzhof glittering times.
2001
a solar system is built for heating water.
2002
stable and barn are new built. The agriculture should remain furthermore the foundation of the court. On the roof the first photovoltaic system is installed in San Candido and produces 30 kW of electricity.
2006
will be built above the Glinzhof the small restaurant “Bergstube”. Hygienic regulations made cooking in the old farmhouse kitchen impossible.
Installation of a modern wood chip plant to the ecologically friendly power production.
2007
our dear mother Maria passes away after short illness. A shock for the court and many of grown fond guests.
2008
Glinzhof is general-redeveloped. The conservatory on the sunny side has plenty of space and expanded the breakfast room. All electricity and water lines were replaced. A fire alarm system is installed.
2009
is a year of special joy: Manfred & Alexia marry with many friends and guests.
2010
little Max is born in April.
2011
the autoparking spaces are roofed and a garage is built.
2012
the new deluxe chalet is rented for the first time.
2012
Installation of a modern wooden gas-BHKW for the CO2 neutral production of electricity and hot water.
2013
Die kleine Marie erblickt das Licht der Welt und macht somit unsere Familie komplett.
2014
The Glinzhof is the first farm in South Tyrol to reach the max. Grading of 5 flowers.
2015
What we have always had is now official: We are now certified organic.
2018
We open our new swimming pool, the relaxation room and the saunas.
2021
A fire destroys the entire heating system. This was the initial spark for a completely new heating concept consisting of a PV system + heat pump. Only peak loads are covered with wood pellets.
2022
The entire attic will be demolished and rebuilt. The suites 4+5+6+7 will be rebuilt using the most modern technology. Standards. 3 rooms with balconies and bathrooms are being built for our valuable employees. A PV system with an output of 160 kWp will be installed on the roof.
2024
Son Max finishes middle school and attends the state hotel management school in Bruneck in the fall. He is determined to take over his parents’ farm!!!

The perfume of a rose
Have you ever tried to describe the smell of a rose in the South Tyrolean mountains with words?
You have to smell the flower itself to know what was allowed to learn the fine nose.
What is the mountain farm “Glinzhof”?
Primarily a place for well-being, for relaxing, high over the Dolomites at 1,500 meters above sea level. Everything which makes a farm so cosy was implemented and united with the comfort of today’s time. To be here means a revival of the senses, a reduction on the substantial.
You smell the hay, enjoy the sunny landscape and feel the pure mountain air. Here you will find the peace, which is often lost in the everyday life. Also you can taste products, which are produced by the local farmers.
Here you can simply be a human-being.
